Pietro Luca Bordignon
Pietro was born in Milan, Italy and grew up between Milan and Rome. Pietro took his first steps in his grandmother’s osteria and his passion for the restaurant industry started in her kitchen. Pietro would watch his grandmother prepare food in the osteria’s kitchen, but he knew he wanted to work in the front of the house where he could talk to people and interact with guests. Pietro’s grandfather used to make grappa and it was from him that he earned his love of Italian liquors and wines.
Pietro has a degree in International Business with a focus on Entertainment and Event Management from the European School of Economics. After graduating, he moved to NYC to further his studies. He earned a degree in Directing from the New York Film Academy and returned to Italy. Pietro worked as an actor in Rome and started his own production company that scouted locations and produced short films.
Pietro eventually moved to the US to get back to his real passion: the food and wine industry. He worked in all restaurant positions in bars and restaurants throughout the country including Manhattan, Chicago, Las Vegas and Naples, Florida. While in Naples, Pietro successfully passed the first level of sommelier training and is currently studying for the next level.
Pietro ended up in Saratoga Springs after a colleague of his from Florida moved to the area ahead of him. His colleague heard of the General Manager opening at Chianti and suggested Pietro apply. After successfully interviewing, he moved to Saratoga Springs and found his new home at Chianti. You’ll see Pietro star in some of our DZ short films, teaching Italian cocktail classes at Chianti and meeting and greeting our wonderful guests in the dining room.
