This December, Chianti il Ristorante hosted a hands-on Holiday Italian Cookie Class led by Chef Fabrizio, offering guests the opportunity to learn classic techniques and traditions behind beloved Italian holiday cookies. The focus of the class was on understanding dough preparation, shaping methods, and the fundamentals needed to successfully bake these cookies at home.

Hands-On Italian Cookie Making

During the class, participants worked alongside Chef Fabrizio to prepare cookie dough for three traditional Italian recipes. Chef Fabrizio shared detailed instruction on ingredients, mixing methods, and texture cues, giving guests the confidence to recreate each recipe on their own.

The cookies featured in the class were:

  • Paste di Meliga
A buttery cornmeal-based cookie known for its delicate texture and rich flavor.
  • Taralli Dolci Campani
Lightly sweet, ring-shaped cookies traditionally enjoyed during the holidays and special occasions.
  • Biscotti Tirolesi con Confettura di Fragole
Soft cookies designed to be filled with strawberry jam once baked.

Looking Ahead

The Holiday Cookie Class highlighted the joy of Italian baking and the value of learning directly from the kitchen. We look forward to welcoming guests back to Chianti il Ristorante for more chef-led classes and immersive culinary experiences.
